It’s with a very heavy heart that I have to announce I will no longer be able to offer footcare in Southampton.
As some of you already know on 2nd June I was taken into hospital with a fast and irregular heart beat, which proceeded to last 12 days, it finally went back to normal whilst I was sat in a cardiologist’s waiting room!
I am hoping it’s an isolated occurrence, but I need to spend more time honouring my wellbeing, as I am still getting tired a lot. I am working full time now for the NHS and my role is very comprehensive, so I am now stopping a lot of my extra activities.
Cris and I made the decision just before this happened to withdraw from buying the house in St James, following the surveyor’s report so I will no longer have a place to work in Southampton in the future, which is probably for the best given my change in health, and the amount we would need to come up and down the M3.
Mum’s house is about to complete any day now and the house is in full on packing mode, so I no longer have a location to see patients in Southampton now or moving forward, and with my health home visits are not an option.
I have been working hard to try and find another Podiatrist in Southampton to offer you appointments, but unfortunately all the Podiatrists that I personally know are currently full.
I am sure there are other Podiatry practices out there and google will be able to point you their way, another option is to look for a ‘foot health practitioner’ their scope of practice is not as broad as mine, but that’s only needed for NHS work, they are trained to focus on simple footcare of skin and nails.
I am extremely disappointed that I am unable to come down for a final session with you all as you have all become good friends and I will miss our regular meet ups.
If you have any questions or would like to ask my opinion about someone you have found, I am as always available on my mobile.
Much love and warm wishes
